T'is the season to be happy and joyous (sung in finest Kermit the frog tones). When did December arrive? I blinked and it came lurching from the bog of speeding time and cold air. Or perhaps it was just the natural ordering of all things Greenwich?

B wants the Christmas tree up, he says that he wants to savour every moment of it's blueness. Yep, that's right blueness. We decided after many years of discussion that we'd theme it silver and blue (the lights had to be blue). After much journeying last xmas we happened upon that which we desired in the garden centre nearest home, we thought we'd buy a new tree at the same time - forgetting the small matter of getting it home. Anyway B had enhanced his orang utan look by the time we arrived home - did you know that human arms can stretch? The piece de la resistance was the pretty angel who was to posture elegantly from the pinnacle of the tree...she was a bargain and B's negotiation skills lead to another 20 shillings being knocked off of her immense cost. She will of course be posted on this post at some time before the day.

Coincidentally I have xmas day off which will be absolutely delightful...

So, it is done. The hunt is on for the new man for the job. I have a vague notion that the hunt is going to be a slow affair. As such and in time honoured English fashion let's have a brew. The glorious pink teapot herewith illustrated is eponymous....

Oh well perhaps the chocolate cake was the right choice. Only the mighty beanpole comes out of that grim showing with any credit. Let's hope that Mr Mac is given his P45 - I rather fancy the special one to step into the hot seat - and build for the future. At least Stevie G won't be exhausted at the start of next season.

Perhaps I need to widen my interests net, patchwork? Cross stitches or words or perhaps I should follow in the footsteps of the wonderful Gaudi. (Not the tram bit) I can't wait to see Norman Foster's reworking of the Camp Nou.

I am being left home alone this evening. Something to do with B's inbred disdain for football. Sometimes I find him difficult to understand - I mean, who, in their right mind (& he is a leftie after all..) would want to dodge such cutting edge arsenalesque footie?!!! He has had a better offer to share a chocolate cake with a trio of dice rolling nerds. Men really are Mars Bars!!!
